I am an anthropologist interested in mobility and labour studies. From 1. October 2021 until 31. July 2022 I am holding a Fritz-Thyssen-Stiftung fellowship for starting a new research project titled “Logistical and social entanglements of career mobilities, work-life balance, and intersectional inequalities in the life course of academics in Germany”.
Prior to joining the Institute for Sociology, I was a doctoral researcher at the Max Weber Center for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies (University of Erfurt) where I conducted a research project on the rotational elder care labour mobility between the former Yugoslavia countries and Germany. My doctoral thesis based on this research is an ethnographic study of illegalized mobile labourers that reveals how the capacity for mobility is built in the interwoven segments of transnational informal care labour markets, labour laws, border regimes, manifold social relations between such as care workers, job intermediaries, care receivers, their families, and other actors in care labour mobility industry.
My current research is focused on academic career mobilities, intersectional analyses of gender, race, ethnicity, citizenship, ability, etc., in the process of re/production of inequality in academic settings, work-life balance, life-course perspective, higher education policy in Germany and Europe, ethnography of academia.
